Library Patrons
Number One-The first and possibly main resource I think that a library website could use would be the library patrons, these are the people who will be using the website and whos feedback and comments would be of great value. The Top Ten Website Builders
Number 2- The second resource that I would recommend would be The Top Ten Website Builders, it contains links and information to the top 10 website building sites in 2013. This website contains information ranked in order of best to worst, it includes editor's notes, whether you can get a free trial, features, customer ratings and an option to visit the individual websites. It also has a lot of general information about website builders in general, which is very handy and informative.www.top10bestwebsitebuilders.com
ALIA
Number 3- Next resource I would recommend would be the ALIA website. Guidelines, policies and standards can be found here for different library sectors. A lot of general information can be found here and questions can be asked if needed. This would be an extremely valuable resource for someone starting a library website.http://www.alia.org.au/
Other Library Websites
Number 4- My fourth resource would be other Library Websites. Looking and browsing through other library website to see what works and what doesn't, what do all the websites have in common, whats websites looks the best and are most user friendly. It can also give you hints and ideas about what your website would need and could use, I feel this is an excellent resource.
Here are some examples of other Library websites-

The Public Library Website Guidelines
Number 5- My last resource would be The Public Library Website Guidelines. This is a fantastic resource. It contains list of what you need to include in your website which has been divided into Essential and Suggested information from everything to the homepage, about the library, programs and services, research and reference as well as design guidelines, it is pretty much a check list of what you need to include on a library website, it is very detailed and an extremely helpful resource.
