The PROS and CONS of using free software platforms to build and host a website...

Today In Class.

Today one of the things that we discussed in class was the PRO'S and CON'S of social media.

I thought I would share the list the we came up with.

PROS                                              

-it's free                                                                                          
-it's simple                                                                                  
-user friendly for people using/                                                    
 creating them                                                                              
-well known                                                                                                                
-good platform                                                               
-creates a community  -no tech stuff (downloading programs etc)                                 
-security  

CONS

 -hacked? (possible but not likely)   
 -you have to follow the rules of the site
 -it's not clear what they do with the    
  information/images?
 -advertising                                  
 -software is limited/you often need to pay for the
  good stuff
-less choice
-poor customer service
-out of fashion/not updated
